Dome and Myers selected for Washington, D.C. trip

Lenora, Kan, 06.20.22 A free trip to Washington, D.C. does not come along every day, but for two students, it became a reality. Through its association with the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), Nex-Tech sponsored two students to attend the FRS Youth Tour, June 1-5, 2022. Students applied through an online application, which addressed the benefits of attending the Youth Tour and the impact that it would have on their career goals. This year’s winners were Benjamin Dome and Jordin Myers who joined nearly 60 other students from across the country at the FRS Youth Tour.

Foundation for Rural Service Announces 2022 Recipients

Lenora, Kan, 06.17.22 Nex-Tech is pleased to announce Emerson Nichols as a national award recipient of the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) scholarship program. Emerson received the $7,000 Everett Kneece scholarship, which is awarded to the highest achieving applicant who demonstrates a strong interest in returning to a rural community.

WTA – Advocates for Rural Broadband Foundation Announces 2022 Scholarship Recipients

Lenora, Kan, 06.14.22 Nex-Tech is pleased to announce Aleecia Day, Madison DuBois, Leah Lindenman, Nolan Juenemann, and Theo Keesee as recipients of the national WTA – Advocates for Rural Broadband Foundation scholarship program. Under the trade school scholarship program, Aleecia was awarded $750 and Nolan was awarded $1,000. Under the academic scholarship program, Leah and Madison were awarded $1,000, and Theo was awarded $1,250. WTA awarded 15 scholarships, totaling $20,500, recognizing achievement, integrity, and commitment.

Nex-Tech Acquires Moundridge Communications Network

LENORA, Kan., April 15, 2022 Nex-Tech is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to acquire Moundridge Communications Network, a broadband and telephone service provider. Moundridge Communications network was founded in 1904 and is one of the oldest operating telephone companies in Kansas. The company provides Internet and telephone services to customers in the Kansas communities of Moundridge and Goessel. Family-owned and operated, the Weelborg and Smith families have owned the company since 2016.

Area Students Accept Technology Education Sponsorship and Sign On for Careers at Nex-Tech

LENORA, Kan., April 04, 2022 On Friday, March 25th, Nex-Tech hosted a signing day to recognize three area students who were recipients of the Technology Education Sponsorship program, a partnership between Nex-Tech and NCK Tech, and also signed on for future careers at Nex-Tech. The Technology Education Sponsorship Program covers the full cost of tuition and books for selected students pursuing an education in Telecommunications & Network Technology or Information Technology at NCK Tech and includes an internship at Nex-Tech. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be formally employed at Nex-Tech.
