Twelve seasons ago, Nex-Tech Game Time kicked off as more than just a show—it’s a celebration of local talent, schools, and communities. Since 2012, we’ve had the privilege of covering live sports like football and regional wrestling, offering a high-quality, live-streamed experience for people across our region.

Why did we start? It began with a simple idea: “What if we could bring big-city-level sports coverage to our local schools?” We already had the skills, equipment, and resources to create top-notch video content, so Game Time was born to highlight area athletes who deserve recognition. Whether you’re a fan unable to make the game in person or someone who wants to relive those key moments later, Nex-Tech Game Time makes it possible with both live and replay options.

We initially set out with iPads and a smaller team of reporters, covering multiple games simultaneously from one base studio. Fast forward to today, and we’re operating a full production van with a six-person crew covering each game in real time. From instant replays and score updates to a live pregame show, our goal is to deliver a seamless, immersive viewing experience.

Why do we keep doing it? Here’s the thing: Game Time isn’t a moneymaker. We don’t sell enough commercials to cover the production costs. But that’s not why we do it. At Nex-Tech, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve, and Game Time is our way of showing that commitment. We’re proud that no matter where people live—whether they’re in rural Kansas or beyond—local athletes have a platform to shine.

From the very beginning, we’ve done things the “Nex-Tech Way.” That means no shortcuts, just pure dedication and a commitment to delivering at 110%. Four of us—Jason Pierson, Aubree Broyles, Ivan Sanders, and Curtis Brown—have been part of this journey since the beginning, and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve built.

A community connection. It’s a “feel-good” project at heart. We know that for some viewers, Game Time is the only way they can connect with the excitement of their local high school sports—whether that’s due to travel limitations or simply the joy of reliving a great game. And it’s not just for local fans. Families and alumni from across the country tune in, and it’s these moments of connection that make it all worth it.

For us, it’s never been about making the big bucks. It’s about giving back and showcasing the talent in our communities. Game Time is proof that when passion meets purpose, the whole community wins.
